In response, about 60 employees from Siemens Korea, including President and CEO Mr. HaJoong Chung, participated in volunteer environmental cleanup activities, removing major invasive plant species along the ecological waterway and willow forest area stretching from Yeouigyo Bridge to Seoulgyo Bridge. Target species included common ragweed, giant ragweed, white snakeroot, bur cucumber, and humulus japonicus.
Mr. Chung said, “This meaningful campaign reflects our commitment to protecting valuable urban wetlands and forests, ensuring a healthier ecological environment for future generations. As a responsible corporate citizen, Siemens Korea will continue to drive sustainability initiatives aligned with our corporate philosophy to create lasting positive impact on our society and environment.”
Meanwhile, Siemens Korea has been actively engaging in various initiatives as part of its sustainability management. In 2024, the company conducted the ‘Forest Restoration ESG Campaign’ at the National Center for Forest Education in Chuncheon. Siemens Korea has also raised funds for emergency relief efforts, including aid for the Türkiye Earthquake, the forest fires in Gangwon and Gyeongbuk provinces, and the earthquake in Nepal. In addition, the company has contributed to local community development through employee-led volunteer activities such as donations of daily necessities, environmental cleanup efforts, and meal serving programs.
