AhnLab Announces Partnership with Mega Enterprise in Gaming Security
Based on this partnership, AhnLab’s HackShield technology will be integrated into four online games distributed abroad by Mega Enterprise by the end of next year, including “Kong Kong Online”, a popular MMO racing game that has been exported to China, Japan and two other Asian countries, and share revenue of those games under the running royalty agreement.
The running royalty system, which divides earnings in proportion to the number of audience or the scope of the hit, is usually adopted in casting agreements in the filming or commercial advertisement business. This agreement marks the fist of its kind in the security solution industry. This win-win model eases the game company of security concerns at low cost, and benefits the solution provider with a sustaining and stable source of revenue. This partnership will also encourage the online game industry to address security issues more actively and aggressively.
