Hanteo Chart becomes the first official K-pop ranking to combine new-release sales and secondhand market data
The integration powers Hanteo Chart‘s new “Trend Chart,” launched July 1, built primarily on Bunjang Global’s verified transaction records for K-pop albums and merchandise. Every data point is run through Hanteo Chart’s proprietary abuse-filtering system before being aggregated with social mentions and traffic data, guarding the chart’s integrity against manipulation.
The stakes are high: Hanteo‘s first-week sales figures are the industry’s benchmark for album success and feed directly into rankings on Korea’s top music broadcast shows, including Mnet’s M Countdown. Folding in secondhand trading data gives the industry, for the first time, a real read on fan demand that outlasts release week.
“We're the platform where K-pop fandom trading is most active worldwide, and now that activity counts,” Choi said. “This is a meaningful step toward measuring fandom the way it actually happens — and we’re committed to building the trusted trading environment that lets it keep growing globally.”
