FUJAIRAH, UAE--(Korea Newswire)--BigONE, a global digital asset trading and financial technology platform, announced a platform upgrade marking its 9th anniversary, covering its self-developed matching engine, product portfolio, payment integrations and regulatory infrastructure.

Since its launch in 2017, BigONE has operated digital asset trading, asset management, payment and technology infrastructure services in global markets. According to company-provided materials, BigONE has a user base of more than 5.2 million worldwide and offers more than 500 trading pairs as well as various trading and asset management functions.

A key part of the upgrade is the introduction of Cowpresso, BigONE’s self-developed matching engine. According to BigONE, Cowpresso is a trading processing engine developed over approximately two years. It focuses on improving order processing performance and stability through system architecture enhancements, including a fully in-memory order book, lock-free ring buffer and zero-copy path.

“Cowpresso is not merely a performance improvement, but a redesign of core infrastructure with future platform expansion in mind,” said Ethan, CTO of BigONE. “The main goal of this project is to improve the stability and responsiveness of the trading environment experienced by users.”

BigONE also reorganized its product portfolio. Its main services include spot trading, margin trading, perpetual futures, leveraged ETFs, instant swap, strategy trading, copy trading, quant API and market data tools. The company also provides asset management, staking, PoS pools, lending and BigONE Card services that connect post-trading asset utilization with payment experiences.

In the area of tokenized assets, BigONE introduced products linked to the market movements of U.S. stocks and ETFs. These products are available only to certain eligible users, and holders do not have shareholder voting rights. Service availability and usage conditions may vary depending on regional regulations and platform policies.

BigONE also identified customer asset protection and risk management as key operating principles. The company said it is strengthening transparency and stability in digital asset operations through proof of reserves, customer asset custody, security partnerships and abnormal transaction monitoring.

In terms of regulatory expansion, BigONE said its affiliated company Bigone Investment Ltd. has obtained relevant licenses from the Astana Financial Services Authority (AFSA), the regulator of the Astana International Financial Centre (AIFC) in Kazakhstan. According to company-provided materials, the licenses cover customer asset custody, execution of investment transactions, operation of a digital asset trading facility, operation of an investment exchange and clearing infrastructure.

Payment and ecosystem integration are also major pillars of the upgrade. Through strategic cooperation with Web3 payment platform DogPay, BigONE is reviewing ways to expand the use of digital assets in areas such as card issuance, merchant payments and corporate accounts. Specific service coverage and schedules will be announced separately at a later date.

An official from BigONE said that this 9th anniversary upgrade is a step toward connecting trading functions, asset management, payments, custody, risk management and technology infrastructure into a unified platform experience. The official also said that BigONE will focus on providing a stable and transparent digital financial environment for global users.
