Seoul--(뉴스와이어)--Service production in September posted an on-year increase of 6.0 percent. The September year-on-year growth accelerated due to the shift of Chuseok (Korean Thanksgiving Day) holidays from September last year to October this year. The expansion was led by real estate and lease, wholesale and retail sales, transportation and business services. Other robust sectors include entertainment, culture and sports services, hotels and restaurants and telecommunication services. Due to the high comparison base set in August, service production in September rose a seasonally adjusted 0.5 percent from the previous month.

In seasonally adjusted terms, service production went up 0.5 percent.

Sectors with increased output (%): Hotels and restaurants (2.6), real estate and lease (2.5), business services (2.3), entertainment, culture and sports services (1.8), financial and insurance services (1.5), wholesale and retail (1.0), telecommunication services (1.0)

Sectors with lowered output (%): education services (-5.3), transportation (-2.3), medical services (-0.6), other public and personal services (-0.1)
