Doha--(뉴스와이어)--Samsung announced today that the Steering Committee for the Samsung Most Valuable Player (MVP) Award has finalized its nominations for the MVP Award.

Accredited journalists covering the Games will be asked to vote between December 11th and December14th to determine the winner. Results will be announced on December 15th at a press conference to be held in the Main Press Centre.

"Samsung is a proud supporter of the Asian Games," said Mr. Gyehyun Kwon, Vice President and Head of Worldwide Sport Marketing and Global Communications of Samsung. "All athletes represented here in Doha 2006 are constantly working hard and striving for excellence. At Samsung, we embody the same values, and look forward to see who emerges as the winner this year."

Introduced at the 1998 Bangkok Asian Games, the Samsung MVP Award is the only award recognizedby the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) and the Doha Asian Games Organizing Committee (DAGOC).

A distinguished Steering Committee, consisting of officials from DAGOC, the OCA, and Samsung, as well as former athletes and sports journalists, carefully screened each Asian Games athlete and nominated the most accomplished candidates for the MVP Award. After nominations, accredited journalists covering the Asian Games will vote for their choice for the MVP winner.

This year's MVP will receive a trophy along with a Samsung LCD TV and a $50,000 USD check to be awarded to their respective NOC to be used toward future support/training of athletes.
