Ahnlab Announces Support for Microsoft Network Access Protection Technololgy

Network Access Protection is a policy enforcement technology built into the Windows Vista and Windows Server, codenamed “Longhorn” operating systems that allows customers to better protect network assets from unhealthy computers by enforcing compliance with network health policies. Microsoft’s Network Access Protection technology is publicly available with trial versions of Windows Vista, and available to select partners and customers with Beta 2 of the future version of Windows Server, codename “Longhorn.”
The AhnLab Network Access Protection solution supports Network Access Protection through AhnLab Policy Center 3.0 and V3 Internet Security 7.0 Platinum (V3 IS 7.0 Platinum). AhnLab Policy Center 3.0 performs as a remediation server and anti-virus policy server in Network Access Protection Service. V3 Internet Security 7.0 Platinum Enterprise functions as a service of Network Access Protection agent while employing AhnLab Policy Center 3.0 as a policy server.
“Microsoft is pleased that AhnLab will be supporting Network Access Protection,” said Calvin Choe, Lead Program Manager, Enterprise Networking Group, Microsoft Corporation. “AhnLab Policy Center 3.0 and V3 Internet Security 7.0 Platinum Enterprise will interoperate with Network Access Protection, which will benefit customers by checking real-time anti-virus version information and security posture information of systems connecting to company networks.”
“ When the system is not healthy, AhnLab Policy Center 3.0 and V3 Internet Security 7.0 Platinum Enterprise will prevent viruses by automatically blocking the compromised computer from the network and then remediate a safe security posture,’ said Jinkyo Jung, Marketing Manager, Information Security Business Group, AhnLab Corporation.
V3 IS 7.0 Platinum, a security solution will support Network Access Protection, provide a combination of anti-Virus, anti-spyware, and firewall functions, and address many security threats such as spam, phishing, and identity theft. APC 3.0 is a security management solution that manages various security products installed in Windows Server such as V3 and SpyZero. In addition to integrated management functions, APC 3.0 provides Proactive Defense.
