Seoul--(뉴스와이어)--Minister for Trade Kim Jong-hoon will attend the Third Foreign Ministers' Meeting (FFM III) of the Forum for East Asia-Latin America Cooperation (FEALAC), which will be held in Brazil from August 22 to 23, 2007.

The FEALAC FFM III will be attended by representatives of 32 FEALAC Member Countries in East Asia and Latin America as well as a new member (Dominica) for discussions on ways to further develop the forum, which is the only institutionalized link between the two regions, and other issues of mutual concern such as ways to strengthen cooperation in various areas including politics and economy. The Brasilia Ministerial Declaration will be adopted at the meeting.

Trade Minister Kim plans to take this opportunity to emphasize the ROK's willingness to contribute to the development of FEALAC, our leadership in various cooperation projects through FEALAC, and the promotion of trade and investment among FEALAC Member Countries.

The ROK played an active role as a regional coordinator of East Asia for FEALAC from 2004 to 2007, and, in particular, hosted the 7th SOM in Seoul in 2005. Japan and Argentina are expected to be elected as the next regional coordinators at the upcoming FEALAC FFM III.

Trade Minister Kim will also hold bilateral talks with the foreign ministers of Brazil, Argentina, Peru, Ecuador and Panama on the sidelines of the FEALAC FFM III, and actively pursue diplomatic activities to secure supports for the ROK's bid to host the International Exposition in Yeosu in 2012.
