POSDATA to Showcase Mobile WiMAX USB Terminals

Seoul--(뉴스와이어)--POSDATA is developing and supplying system equipment, including base and control stations, based on key Mobile WiMAX technologies, and will be supplying USB terminals on the market in cooperation with KT.

POSDATA (CEO Yoo Byung-chang) reached an agreement with KT at its headquarters in Bundang, Gyeonggi Province on September 4 for cooperation in the Mobile WiMAX terminal business. POSDATA will conduct a marketing campaign, which will partly entail Mobile WiMAX terminal planning and sharing of distribution networks, with service provider KT. Based on the agreement, the company plans to establish a foundation for the full-scale supply of Mobile WiMAX terminals in the domestic market.

POSDATA also concluded a marketing agreement on the provision of Mobile WiMAX terminals with CJ Home Shopping. Accordingly, POSDATA is now able to leverage the online distribution channel of CJ Home Shopping to supply the company’s Mobile WiMAX terminals.

In addition to the USB dongle that it will soon be showcasing, POSDATA has drawn up plans to release various products at the end of the year, including a mini-card, CF card, and specialized terminal for games. These products will be available domestically and also overseas, where the company is now moving forward with the distribution of system equipment, including base stations.

The specialized terminal for games that it is developing through its subsidiary, POSBRO, is a multi-functional multimedia product that allows users to enjoy a wide array of online services, including games and videos, even while on the move. It is already gaining wide attention in the domestic and overseas markets.

POSDATA Managing Director Shin Jun-il explained, “By means of terminal business cooperation with KT, POSDATA will establish a total solution structure that covers all areas of Mobile WiMAX, including not only base station and control station equipment, but terminals as well. This will enable the company to increase its competitiveness in the global market.”
