Seoul--(뉴스와이어)--On September 10, Vice Minister Cho Jung-pyo had a meeting with Minister of Tourism of Brazil, Marta Suplicy, who is currently on her visit to Korea, and exchanged views on ways to promote friendly ties and cooperative exchanges in the field of tourism between the ROK and Brazil, the ROK's bid to host the 2012 International Exposition in Yeosu, and resumption of a direct flight service of Korean Airline between Brazil and Korea.

Vice Minister Cho noted the rapid development of bilateral relations especially since President Roh Moo-hyun's visit to Brazil and President Lula's visit to Korea, and proposed to further expand cooperative ties that have been built for the last half a century on the occasion of celebrating the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the ROK and Brazil in 2009. He also asked for Brazil's support for the ROK's bid to host the 2012 International Exposition in Yeosu.

Vice Minister Cho also noted that Brazil has a great potential to become a popular destination for Korean travellers, and Minister Suplicy and Vice Minister Cho agreed to make efforts to resume a direct flight service between the ROK and Brazil for the promotion of bilateral exchanges.
