The 5th FEALAC Economy and Society Working Group Meeting
FEALAC consists of the Foreign Ministers' Meeting, the Senior Officials' Meeting and three Working Group (Politics, Culture and Education Working Group, Economy and Society Working Group and Science and Technology Working Group) Meetings. Minister for Trade Kim Jong-hoon co-chaired the 3rd FEALAC Foreign Ministers' Meeting held in Brazil from August 22 to 23, 2007.
The upcoming meeting will be attended by 33 member countries in East Asia and Latin America for discussions on ways to increase trade and investment and strengthen small- to medium-sized companies between the regions and establishment of a small group on tourism and sustainable development.
In efforts to enhance cooperation at this forum, which is the only inter-governmental cooperation mechanism between the two regions, the ROK will co-host the meeting with Ecuador. The ROK runs a model Web site for FEALAC (http://www.fealacsec.org), which does not have its official secretariat or a homepage.
