V3 passes ‘Checkmark’ certification test for the seventh consecutive year
Checkmark is an international certification awarded by the UK-based West Coast Labs to security solutions such as anti-virus/spyware programs, firewalls, and intrusion detection systems. For anti-virus/spyware solutions to acquire a Checkmark, it must diagnose all malicious code including Trojan horses, key-loggers, viruses and spyware, without any false positive readings.
Checkmark requires that certified security products pass further tests for anti-virus, anti-spyware and anti-Trojan horse functions to maintain their certification. Formerly given once a year, tests are now given every one or two months to reinforce the validity of the certifications. In 2007, virus and Trojan horse tests were given in January and February, Trojan horse tests in March, virus and spyware tests in June, virus tests in July, virus and Trojan horse tests in August, and spyware tests in October. V3 IS 2007 Platinum passed all these tests with perfect scores.
