“Introduction to Korea for the Newly Appointed Foreign Diplomats” Program of the IFANS

Seoul--(뉴스와이어)--The Institute of Foreign Affairs and National Security (IFANS) will carry out the “Introduction to Korea for the Newly Appointed Foreign Diplomats” Program which is an annual program designed to introduce Korea’s foreign policies, trade policy, inter-Korean relations and our culture to the new coming diplomats from foreign nations.

This program has been conducted every year since 1999, and up to 2006, 245 foreign diplomats accredited to Korea have participated. This year, 55 diplomats from 33 countries will be participating in the program.

This year’s participating countries are as below:

- Asia-Pacific(10): Afghanistan, Cambodia, Brunei Darussalam, India, Nepal, New Zealand, Pakistan, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand

- North and South America(5): Argentina, Canada, Guatemala, United States, Venezuela

- Europe and the CIS(9): Azerbaijan, Belgium, the European Union, Germany, Russia, Spain, Ukraine, Uzbekistan

- Africa and the Middle East(9): Algeria, Angola, Cote d’Ivoire, Ghana, Israel, Kenya, Kuwait, Lebanon, Nigeria

The IFANS will continue to provide programs that help the understanding of the diplomacy, economy, history and culture of Korea to the foreign diplomats in the ROK and contribute to the friendly and cooperative relations between Korea and the respective countries.
