Minister’s Visit to the U.S. 2nd Infantry Division ‘Camp Casey’

Seoul--(뉴스와이어)--Minister Song Min-soon visited the Camp Casey of the U.S. 2nd Infantry Division in Dongducheon on December 21 to deliver words of gratitude and encouragement to the U.S. forces in Korea.

Minister Song heard a briefing from the Commander of the 2nd Infantry Division Major General John Morgan on troop conditions. He inspected main military equipments and thanked the U.S. forces for their services by presenting gifts to the soldiers. U.S. Ambassador to Korea Alexander Vershbow and the Commander of the U.S. 8th Army Lieutenant General David Valcourt accompanied Minister Song on his visit to Camp Casey.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade made efforts to encourage the USFK soldiers and consolidate the Korea-U.S. alliance by arranging Minister’s visits to ‘Camp Red Cloud,’ the headquarters of the U.S. 2nd Infantry Division, in December 2004 and to the Camp Casey in December 2005.
