Comments by MOFAT Spokesperson on the Adoption of Resolution S.RES.279 by the U.S. Senate
The resolution is the second one adopted this year by the U.S. Congress, following the Resolution H.RES.295 that recognized the strong alliance between Korea and the U.S. which was passed in the U.S. House of Representatives on June 11, 2007. It is noted that the Resolution S.RES.279 reflects the understanding of the U.S. Congress on the importance of the Korea-U.S. alliance.
The Korean government expects that the Korea-U.S. alliance will develop into a stronger and more mature partnership with the support of the two governments and their people. Korea and the U.S. will continue to exert coordinated efforts to this end.
