Seoul--(뉴스와이어)--Since December 2007, frequent conflicts have occurred between the Nigerian Joint Task Force and armed groups in the Niger Delta area in southern Nigeria. There are indications that the militia will make a large-scale attack for the Niger Delta area, especially the Rivers State soon.

The Niger Delta area is a dangerous-to-travel place, already classified as the Travel-Alert Level 3 (Travel Restricted) Region, according to the standard set by the Korean government. The MOFAT again asks the Korean companies engaging in business in this area to pay utmost attention to their workers’ safety.

Since all other regions in Nigeria are included in the Travel Alert Level 2 Regions, we urge the Korean people to refrain from traveling the country, especially the Niger Delta area.
