Trade Minister to Participate in the 2008 Davos Forum

Seoul--(뉴스와이어)--Trade Minister Kim Jong-hoon will visit Switzerland from January 24 to 26 to attend the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting 2008 to be held in Davos, Switzerland from January 23 to 27, which will be held under the theme “The Power of Collaborative Innovation”.

※ The Davos Forum was first established in 1971 under the initiative of Professor Klaus Schwab to discuss possible solutions to the most pressing issues of our time. As the general meeting of the World Economic Forum, it is held in January in Davos, Switzerland with over 2000 high-level international participants.

Minister Kim will take part in sessions such as "Climate Change: Is a Truly Global Response Possible?" and "Revitalising Multilateral Trade Talks" as well as the dinner session titled "The Challenge of Asian Integration".

Minister Kim will participate in bilateral talks with USTR Susan Schwab and EU Trade Commissioner Peter Mandelson to discuss issues concerning the Korea-U.S. FTA and the Korea-EU FTA, while also participating in a luncheon hosted by the Government of Switzerland to discuss pushing forth the Doha Development Agenda with other trade representatives.
