Seoul--(뉴스와이어)--Prudential Investment & Securities Co. (PISC) (CEO Chung, Jinho) announced that starting March 3 (Mon), it would distribute to individual and institutional investors a new product named ‘Prudential Small-and-Mid Cap Focus Equity Fund’, which invests in mid- and -small cap stocks for attractive valuation in the market with growing volatility.

‘Prudential Small-and-Mid Cap Focus Equity Fund’ will be managed by Prudential Asset Management Co., Ltd. (PAMC) and investment focus will be on small-and-mid cap stocks as valuation has become more attractive in 2007 with strong market growth driven by large-cap shares. The fund is also aimed to offer an alternative diversification opportunity in a market correction. The fund attributes are as follows.

First, ‘Prudential Small-and-Mid Cap Focus Equity Fund’ is in search of higher and stable returns by investing in undervalued small-and-mid cap shares and puts priority in blue chips with solid real asset value. It also seeks improvement in returns by investing in small-and-mid cap that has solid growth potentials with sound corporate governance, strong turnaround momentum and competitive technological edges in newly growing industries.

Second, the product is based on through bottom-up researches to select stocks and deploys a well-diversified active management style that does not track a single index or certain sector to peruse good performance and stability at the same time.

Third, ‘Prudential Small-and-Mid Cap Focus Equity Fund’ is managed and its risk is thoroughly controlled by cooperative team work among management team, research, risk management and compliance team of PAMC that holds an extensive expertise in the domestic market and adopts highly sophisticated management process.

‘Prudential Small-and-Mid Cap Focus Equity Fund’ holds at least 60% expose in equity and about 90% of the trusted assets are invested in equity except in exceptional cases. Standard for small-and-mid cap weight is more than 60% of total asset and exposure to KOSDAQ is maintained at around 20% range of trusted asset.
