Citibank Korea Donated 150 Million Won to Habitat for Humanity Korea

Seoul--(뉴스와이어)--Yung-Ku Ha, CEO of Citibank Korea Inc. donated 150 million Won, funded by Citi Foundation, to Chang Sik Lee, Chairman of Habitat for Humanity Korea to support its 2008 activities. The ‘Citi Building Hope and Homes’ event will continue for a week, at the Habitat for Humanity construction site in Chuncheon, Gangwon-do.

Citibank Korea Inc. was the first company to partner with Habitat for Humanity Korea in 1998 and more than 500 Citibank Korea Inc. employees have volunteered their time to provide 15 families with homes in Gwangyang, Samcheok, Daegu, Gunsan, Taeback, etc. For this year’s ‘Citi Building Hope and Homes’ event, 100 employees of the bank and their families will join the construction work together with local residents to build 2 houses.

"I’m very proud that Citi’s housing build celebrates the eleventh anniversary this year. Participating in the Habitat for Humanity movement means a great deal to me as well as employees of Citibank Korea Inc. and their families in the sense that we are volunteering on-site, experiencing the true spirit of caring and giving,” said CEO Yung-Ku Ha, also known as a housing build mania among Citibank Korea employees for his ardent support and continued participation in the program.

Chang Sik Lee, Chairman of Habitat for Humanity Korea said, "As a partner, Citibank Korea has supported the Habitat for Humanity Korea for a long time. Citibank Korea sets an example in providing homeless neighbors with a decent place to live in. It is more meaningful that the bank is not just sponsoring our program but also providing opportunities for the employees to participate in the event as well.”
