Citibank Korea launched ‘Samsung Focus Bond Investment Trust’

Seoul--(뉴스와이어)--Bond-type funds are drawing the eyes of investors as an alternative way of investment to equity funds amid many uncertainties in the financial market.

‘Deutche DWS Short-term Bond’, offered by Citibank Korea (CEO, YK Ha www.citibank.co.kr), in particular, is enjoying popularity, attracting KRW 10 billion in fifteen days and KRW 80 billion in just two months after the launching. ‘Deutche DWS Short-term Bond’ applies defense strategy when interest goes up while employing aggressive management strategy when interest rate goes down on its asset portfolio to generate higher profit.

“Higher fluctuations in the financial market have driven up the interest rate against bonds. Bond-type funds are drawing attention of investors in Korea as these funds offer bigger chances of higher yield while also providing extra profit when there is an increase in bond prices,” said Bujang Eui-Man Hwang of Investment Product Department, Citibank Korea.

Hwang also added, “Citibank Korea believes that ample investment opportunities lie in Korean bond-type funds even in current market uncertainties and recommends our customers to allocate bond-type funds in their portfolio. We also launched ‘Samsung Focus Bond Investment Trust’, a bond-type fund that invests in bank debentures as its spread against that of government bonds has been record high.”

‘Samsung Focus Bond Investment Trust’ will limit its investment in only 1.5-year AAA bank debentures and employ maturity matching-type strategy to minimize credit risk and interest rate risk. Samsung Focus Unit-type Bond Investment Trust is offered from September 17th to 23rd with minimum subscription of KRW 5 million with front-end load fee of 0.5%.
