Elegantly Designed, The New 911 Targa 4, 4S
The new Targa 4 and 4S models combine the open air of a cabriolet in a framework of a coupe with a large 1.54m2 all glass rooftop. Even with the roof closed, you can enjoy limitless views. The front glass slides electronically underneath the rear glass window and the rear glass window is also very functional as it can also open like a tailgate for easy rear compartment access. The all glass rooftop opens and closes in seven seconds. In addition, the roof glass is tinted and laminated for safety and in addition to the sunblind, provides sufficient UV protection for passengers. The all glass rooftop is a Porsche patented concept and provides a truly unique driving experience.
The 2009 Targa 4 and 4S is available with the new DFI engine and PDK transmission for enhanced driving experience, lower emissions and enhanced fuel efficiency. In addition PTM (Porsche Traction Management), previously available exclusively on 911 Turbo models, is standard on the new Targa 4 and 4S models. PTM consists of an electronic multi-plate clutch, and automatic brake differential (ABD) and anti-slip regulation, enhancing safety and increasing driving experience. The Targa 4 features a 3.6 litre, 6 cylinder DFI boxer engine with 345 hp and a top speed of 284km/h. The Targa 4S is equipped with a 3.8 litre, 6 cylinder DFI boxer engine producing 385 horsepower which has a top speed of 297 km/h.
Michael Vetter, President of Stuttgart Sports Cars Ltd., comments “the Targa is a world class design and having been recognized by the “Red Dot Awards” with Best of Best Award.” “The Targa is very special. The views and driving experience in a Porsche Targa are unparalleled whether driving in the city, highway or through a scenic drive.”
