LCD monitor shipments from both SIs and brand vendors slightly slip in October, reports WitsView
So we could clearly see the consolidate phenomenon in the top 5 system integrators. They take the bigger share month by month. Except the Samsung and LGE have the priority strategy to satisfy their in house production capacity, the pure system integrators who are TPV, Innolux and Qisda must be pay more attentions on dealing with rush orders and flexible production strategy in order to maintain their monthly shipment stably. WitsView projects the Top 10 LCD monitor brand vendors’ MoM shipment will continue to decline in November, down by roughly 18%.
Amid the arrival of Q4, which traditionally marks the shipment peak, the shipment performance of the worldwide Top 10 LCD brand vendors in October was worse than expected. According to WitsView’s October brand vendor shipment survey, the Top 10 makers’ MoM shipments declined by 1.4%. It can thus be seen that there is little momentum in the end market to push the demand. By looking at the shipment figures of each region, the North America region was most affected by the financial crisis, where most of the brand vendors saw their shipments decrease. As for the other regions, the market demand was also relatively weak, as well.
In the run up to the year-end sales, demand is expected to be slow in the traditionally hot season. LCD Monitor brand companies have not only revised down their sales target, they are also holding a very cautious outlook towards the 4Q08 market trend. Thus, WitsView forecasts the Top 10 LCD monitor brand vendors’ MoM shipment will continue to decline in November, down by roughly 17%.
