Citibank Korea donated 24,320,000 won to Lovingneighbours
The donation was funded by the CKI weekend theme program, which is one of the employee welfare programs. More than 2,400 CKI employees and their families joined the program, donating 10 thousand won per person to address the needs of children and youth in four community child centers that were devoid of educational opportunities and established by MuldenDongsan Network.
MuldenDongsan Network, the edu-care network developed by Lovingneighbours, is a nonprofit organization supporting the growth of community child care centers in both quantity and quality. While providing education for children of poor families in Nangok, MuldenDongsan Network helps children of North Korean families in Mok-dong adapt to South Korean society and prepare for their future. For children of grandparent-grandchild families in Geogeum-do, it helps children and youth to fulfill their dreams and also actively encourages children of multicultural homes in Anshan in learning two languages and growing into the next generation of global leaders.
The CKI weekend theme program, in which employees and their families participate, is composed of programs including fruit harvest, special area tour, watching performances, etc under the theme of experiencing rural lives, nature and culture. The program was held 21 times in 2007 and 15 times in 2008, collecting 24,320,000 won.
The donation ceremony was held at the head office of CKI with 10 participants including Jung-Hoon Khang, Director of HR dept., CKI, Son Bin, President of Lovingneighbours, Sung-Jin Han, President of MuldenDongsan Network and other officials.
