Citibank and the Korea Institute of Finance (KIF) agreed to support the manpower development program in the financial field
This program was funded by Citi Foundation and organized by the KIF to develop effective channels for training next-generation experts who contribute to enhancing global competitiveness of the Korean financial institutions.
The Korea Institute of Finance plans to host a financial book report/academic report contest with the participation of more than 150 universities nationwide in March. A scholarship will be awarded to contest winners that include 70 from undergraduate students and 50 from graduate student. In addition, winners will be given an opportunity to participate in a mentoring program or a career development program consisting of KIF researchers , professors of the Graduate School of Finance of KAIST and Citibank Korea employees.
The first program from 2007 to 2008 was jointly led by Citibank Korea and the Graduate School of Finance of KAIST. 100 book report/academic reports were selected and 140 students were granted a scholarship with an opportunity to join a mentoring program or a career development program helped by financial experts.
“This program will be a good opportunity for prospective students aspiring to become financial experts in the future to unleash their potential,” said Ha Yung-ku, CEO of Citibank Korea.
“The close cooperation between Citibank, one of the global financial leaders and the Korea Institute of Finance that has focused on the study and analysis of financial issues will surely contribute to nurturing high-quality human resources that leads the Korean financial industry in the future,” said Park Jae-ha, an Acting President of the KIF.
