KOSBI sets up ‘1st Citi-KOSBI Women Entrepreneurship Academy (WEA)’ and solicits participants in partnership with Citibank Korea
With the support of Citi Foundation since 2008, KOSBI has conducted ‘women-owned business competitiveness strengthening program.’ As its four core projects, KOSBI conducted a survey on demand for support of women-owned entrepreneurs and ‘Citi-KOSBI Women Entrepreneur Awards,’ identified successful cases of local and foreign women-owned enterprises and held symposiums. In particular, KOSBI is setting up ‘Citi-KOSBI Women-owned Entrepreneur Academy,’ as its survey on demand for support of women-owned enterprises found high demands for management education and pioneering of and entry into overseas markets among Korean women-owned businesses.
The ‘Citi-KOSBI Women Entrepreneurship Academy’ project this time focuses on strengthening the capabilities and competitiveness of women-owned small enterprises by providing customized education designed to improve Korean women-owned businesses’ global competitiveness, education on tax and law for their successful operations in Korea and entry into overseas markets, offering corporate information, building networks with related local and foreign institutions and exchanging information with them. Excellent leaders in various fields, professors at related institutions, capable SME experts and Citibank Korea financial experts will present lectures as volunteers.
Lectures will be given at 6th floor, grand hall of KOSBI, for three hours starting 3:30 pm over 13 weeks. Corporation-type (excluding retailers) women-owned small business CEOs (or middle managers) are eligible to participate with the number of participants limited to 50. Citibank Korea supports the full tuition of 3 million won per person and KOSBI will be in charge of lecturing and operation of ‘Citi-KOSBI WEA.’ Those who wish to participate can download application forms at www.kosbi.re.kr and apply by e-mail at kimjh@kosbi.re.kr.
