With the overseas remittance service currently provided, the recipient can find the money from the receiving bank only a few days after the sender makes the overseas remittance, but with the “Citibank Global Transfer Service”, the recipient can receive the money immediately after the transfer has been made, just as if it was made within the country.

This service was also opened last August through its Internet banking, and it gained much attention and popularity because of the low fee and convenience provided by the real-time account transfer. This service is currently available in 9 countries including the US, China, Canada, Australia, Indonesia, Singapore, Guam, Philippines and Hong Kong, and it will be rolled out further more in other countries within this year.

Mobile phone “Citibank Global Transfer Service” costs less than 5,000 won for each transaction, and no other fees such as T/T fee and overseas fee are charged. On the other, the Citigold customers can get remittance fee fully waivered.

To use this service, the account receiving remittances should be a Citibank account issued at the respective country, and the customer must be subscribed to mobile banking services in Citibank Korea. First time remittance transaction cannot be done through the mobile banking services, and this services is provided for second time remittances in the form of additional transaction by pulling out transaction history (reception information) of remittance previously done over the counter or through the Internet Banking.
