Samsung Corby Catwalks Into Milan

Milan--(뉴스와이어)--Samsung’s Corby, a new full-touch mobile for younger users, has staked its claim as a “fashionista” by holding its global launch among the catwalks of Milan, the day before the start of the city’s famed Fashion Week.

As thousands of the world’s most beautiful models and most influential fashion buyers gathered in the city for the unveiling of new trends for next year, more than 400 VIPs joined Samsung for Corby’s global launch event yesterday at Studio 90 in the renowned East End Studios.

The stylish Corby drew attention among the glitterati in Milan with a dazzling launch event under the theme “Journey to Colour.” Guests were immersed in the vivid colours, sensual design and intuitive user experiences central to the phone’s design. The Studio 90 event featured spectacular decorations inspired by Corby’s four main colours – Jamaican Yellow, Minimal White, Cupid Pink and Festival Orange – each representing key characteristics of the product, such as touch, entertainment, design and social network services (SNSs).

“I purposely chose to be daring by tapping into the fashion trend for bright, bold colours, which is spreading from catwalks to high streets around the world for the forthcoming year,” said JunYong Song, the designer of the Samsung Corby...“I hope the vibrant colours of this mobile bring fun, vitality and excitement to users, from the bold diagonal line down the side of the Samsung Corby to the cute, curvy design.”

The new Corby is the first in a new range of full-touch mobiles from Samsung that put users at the centre of the social media revolution. The device is designed for the younger generations of mobile users who value touch-screen technology, ergonomic design and a full range of social networking capabilities.

“Corby is all about being young, sociable, cool and constantly on the move, and this mobile is designed to complement an active lifestyle in terms of social networking services, usability and design,” explained JK Shin, Executive Vice President and Head of Samsung Electronics’ Mobile Communications Division. “We wanted a phone that offered instant and easy access to social network sites like Facebook, Twitter and MySpace so users can share and connect through the touch screen interface.”

The Corby boasts a 2.8 inch TFT touch screen and can be used as an MP3 player, video playback device, or even a digital camera thanks to the on-board 2-megapixel sensor with smile detection.

The Samsung Corby promises a full sensory experience. Alongside the handset’s wealth of integrated social networking services, the phone’s music and video capabilities mean that both the mind and the senses are constantly engaged.

The Samsung Corby launches first in France, quickly followed by other European countries including the UK, as well as Brazil, China, India, Thailand, Turkey and Vietnam during September.

The Samsung Corby is called Genio Touch in the UK.
