Citibank offers 100% discount on FX rate & remittance fee waiver for overseas students

서울--(뉴스와이어)--Citibank Korea (CEO Yung-Ku Ha, www.citibank.co.kr) launches a service that offers 100% discount on FX rate and remittance fee waiver to help parents of overseas students reduce their financial burden. The ongoing economic downturn and strong dollars have been putting pressure on those families.

The service will be available until the students abroad graduate from their schools based on the evidential documents submitted to the Bank.

Students who want to benefit from the service just have to designate Citibank Korea as their foreign exchange bank and open accounts of their own and the agent for remittance. Money transfer is made through the bank counters. Period for foreign exchange bank registration will last for two months starting from Sep. 28 till Nov. 30, 2009.

Those who have been using other banks can also enjoy the same benefits by just switching their foreign exchange bank to Citibank.

“We believe our offer of 100% discount on FX rate and remittance fee waiver will be of good help to families who are struggling with high won-dollar rate,” says EVP Heung-Joo Lee of Citibank who led the launch of this service. “Citibank is committed to continuously developing products and services that will bring success to our customers.”

Since customers should visit branches for registration as overseas student or switch of their foreign exchange bank, they are recommended to come to branches before noon to avoid peak hours.
