2009 Citi-KOSBI Women Entrepreneur Awards
The 2009 Citi-KOSBI Women Entrepreneur Award has 4 domains: Entrepreneurship, Eco-friendly Management, Human Resource Management, and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). Documents for application were received until Sep. 10, 2009, and a total of 73 companies (including double applications) submitted documentations at the 1st screening where 15 out of them have passed. After on-site screening, awardees were finally selected based on the comprehensive screening results. Below are the winners of the Awards:
‣ Airvita (Entrepreneurship)
Airvita was successful in the development and commercialization of the unique air cleaner that creates fresh negative ions. In addition to its great success at home, its export has increased as the product excellence became widely recognized in Europe, in particular Germany, contributing greatly to enhancing Korea’s national standing.
‣ MS Tech (Eco-friendly Management)
: The company has contributed substantially to environmental conservation by developing diaphragm decanter which is waste water and sewage treatment system that precipitates floating solids in a biological reaction bath with no secondary pollution. Before, sewage treatment machine market used to be dominated by imported goods
‣ Saessac Total Food (CSR)
: Saessac has earned consumer trust by providing quality food materials, especially with homegrown sesame oil. At a time when farmers are concerned over potential losses from a series of FTA agreements, the company purchases locally-produced sesames from approximately 500 farming households to help them maintain their income.
‣ Viser (Human Resource Management)
: Unlike most SMEs, Viser offers a wide spectrum of talent management programs including scholarships, job trainings, subsidies on herbal medicine purchase, foreign language lesson, and book purchase with an objective to retain talents and improve their capabilities.
The Award ceremony is to be held at Grand Ballroom, COEX Convention Center at 4pm, Fri., Oct. 30, 2009.
