LG Chemical Ranked No.1 for Three Consecutive Quarters in Large-area TFT-LCD Polarizer Market

TV-use polarizer market share by maker based on second-quarter 2009 show LG Chemical in No.1 ranking with 30% followed by Nitto Denko in No.2 ranking with 29% and Sumitomo Chemical in No.3 ranking with 25% market share. Combined market share of the three companies reach 80%. As LG Chemical initiates its polarizer supply to IPS Alpha and Samsung Electronics, its market share is anticipated to go higher.

Heo emphasized “the market share different between LG Chemical and Nitto Denko is almost 10% and ACE Digitech recorded 7% market share to be ranked in No.4 position. This shows continuing dominance of 2 Korean makers comprising 40% of global market share.”
