Climb more and enjoy better rate… CKI’s “Wonderful Mountain Climbing Account”

Seoul--(뉴스와이어)--Citibank Korea, Inc. (CEO Ha Yung Ku, www.citibank.co.kr) is launching its “Wonderful Mountain Climbing Account” on Dec 16th. This is a product of new concept that combined hiking with high interest of free deposit. Such product structure that yields higher rate for actively enjoying hobbies is unprecedented that CKI has even applied for a patent.

With the Wonderful Mountain Climbing Account, on top of annual rate of 4.0% p.a.(pre-tax), customers can enjoy additional 0.1% p.a.(pre-tax) up to 0.5% p.a. (pre-tax) annually for every picture taken at the top of a mountain higher than 1,000M. Moreover, if the customer successfully climbs 10 mountains out of the 15 designated by CKI within a year and present the pictures taken at the mountains, they can receive preferential rate of additional 0.5% p.a.. In other words, if a customer subscribed for this account climbs 10 mountains out of the 15 designated by the bank, he or she can enjoy interest rate of up to 5.0% p.a. (pre-tax). The interest is calculated by multiplying the rate with the daily final balance based on first-in first-out principle. However, basic rate, preferential rate and additional preferential rate are all applied only after 31 days from each deposit, and 0.1% p.a.(pre-tax) is applied for all deposit during the first 30 days.

Besides the high interest fee, the Wonderful Mountain Climbing Account offers various fee waivers and discounts. Any fees incurred from using other bank’s ATM will be reimbursed to the customers who designate this account as their payroll account or have average balance of 900M won during the prior month (For up to 8 withdrawals and 5 transfers a month). The customers can also enjoy unlimited fee waiver for withdrawal and transfer when using CKI ATMs, and other fee waiver for varied services as electronic banking, cashier’s check, and preferential FX rate and remittance discount(35~40%).

Each customer can subscribe for only one account, and both Koreans and foreigners can subscribe who provide appropriate identification.
