부산--(뉴스와이어)--Busan International Short Film Festival (BISFF, sponsored by motion pictures association of Korea, Busan branch, Na So-won, festival chairman)has been facing 30th anniversary after 1980 as introducing Asian short films and as discovering and supporting talented new movie directors, which is changed the title from BASFF to BISFF and begins submission for competitive section targeted to short filmmakers from all over the world.

On our website(www.bisff.org) we are receiving online application and category will be fiction, animation, experimental film (under 20min) including no time limit for documentary film, should be produced after on March, 2009. There will be separate awarding for Extreme short section (under 60sec).

On 8th, March, 10a.m. we will announce selected films judged by individual members of the special jury on our website. Through judge during on 12th~16th, May, showing in Haeundae area, we award 8 films for total amount 21,000,000won(Korean currency) prizes and 35mm film prize including Dong-bak award(10,000,000 won).

Last year on May in BASFF, we are submitted around 700 films, 18 countries and audiences met 137 films including invitation films, 20 countries from USA, Europe, Asia and Gyung-sang province.

Park Hae-Do, festival director, BISFF, announced “Facing with 30th anniversary BISFF and globalization we will try to have a popular appeal by introducing attraction of short films to broaden audiences, and will show international great films by using network between foreign festivals and moviemakers.”

Meanwhile, BISFF will be together with SORIBADA media to make an agreement about wire-wireless distribution service and to carry forward an active distribution which is mainly festival screened films. Hereby BISFF will reform as a solid festival to provide multi-solution in overall short films by pre-production support which is short film scenario contest, by INCU Star Show which is to find new actors and to build support actor system, by support for submission in abroad festival and business of motion contents distribution.
