Samsung Delivers Next Generation Satellite / IP Set-top box for CANAL+ Group

Seoul--(뉴스와이어)--Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd., a leading provider of telecommunications and digital convergence technologies, announced today it has entered into an agreement with CANAL+ Group, the french leading pay-TV operator, to provide the next generation satellite / IP hybrid set-top boxes.

Samsung satellite / IP hybrid set-top box enables CANAL+ and/or CANALSAT subscribers not only to access HD premium and thematic contents but to benefit from enhanced services, including catch up VOD (Video on Demand) using WiFi.

With this agreement, Samsung secured its leardership in the global set-top box industry, consolidating its partnership with world’s top-tier satellite operators including DirecTV in the US and BskyB in UK.

Samsung is expanding its set-top box market presence with its technology leadership around the globe. A telecommunication veteran, Samsung develops all kinds of set-top boxes for all technical categories such as cable, satellite, IP and terrestrial broadcasting. In particular, Samsung strengthens its product portfolio with feature-rich set-top-boxes, that support HD contents and PVR (Personal Video Recorder).
