Samsung Signs on as Official Sponsor of Vancouver 2010 Paralympic Winter Games
VANOC’s Chief Information Officer Ward Chapin, International Paralympic Committee (IPC) President Sir Philip Craven, Samsung’s Paralympic Athlete Ambassador Jean Labonté, and Gyehyun Kwon, Samsung’s Vice President and Head of Worldwide Sports Marketing, jointly announce Samsung’s Paralympic Games sponsorship by signing and presenting the official bib for the upcoming Vancouver 2010 Paralympic Winter Games.
Sir Philip Craven, President of the International Paralympic Committee (IPC) and Gyehyun Kwon, Vice President and Head of Worldwide Sports Marketing for Samsung Electronics sign the agreement for Samsung Electronics to be a Worldwide Paralympic Partner of the IPC and an Official Sponsor of the Vancouver 2010 Paralympic Winter Games.

A highlight of today’s signing ceremony was a visit from Jean Labonté, captain of the Canadian National Ice Sledge Hockey Team and Samsung Athlete Ambassador. Labonté was on the Canadian team that won the gold medal at the Torino 2006 Paralympic Winter Games and has been the captain of the Canadian Paralympic Team since 2007.

Labonté’s experience and achievements as the captain of the Canadian team will be documented in an exclusive video blog. This blog will be available on www.ParalympicSport.TV, the internet TV channel of the IPC, which will webcast more than 140 hours of coverage from the Vancouver 2010 Winter Paralympic Games.
