The More You Bank, The Deeper The Discount…CKI Launches “UPL with Deeper Discount”

Seoul--(뉴스와이어)--Citibank Korea, Inc. (CEO Ha Yung Ku, www.citibank.co.kr) announced on April 5 the launch of “UPL with Deeper Discount” of up to 2.3% haircut in loan interest rate based on the banking transaction performance.

UPL with Deeper Discount is a product structured in such way that interest rate is discounted in stages based on the banking performance a customer has with the bank. Discount is given if certain criteria are met: main bank relationship (up to 1.0%p.a.), loan/occupation factors (up to 1.0%p.a.) and premier customer (up to 2.0%) among others. Additional 0.1% is discounted if five or more of the criteria are met, which may bring down the interest rate to as low as 5.5%.

By signing a separate agreement, an unsecured loan customer may enjoy Perfect interest cut by offsetting the loan principal with deposit balance. More specifically, 30% of balance remaining in demand deposit account may be used for deducting loan principal before calculating loan interest.

Kim Seok-Min, head of Consumer Asset Product, remarked, “We have a slew products launched or to be launched, including ‘Perfect UPL with Discount’ introduced in January which calculates interest rate after 30% of balance in up to three demand deposit accounts, including accounts held by friend or family, is deducted from loan principal. This time, we are introducing ‘UPL with Deeper Discount’ that provides steeper discounts if customers bank with us more,” and added, “This product is designed to offer more benefits to our loan customers once they bring in more business to the bank.”

The new product is targeted for employees working in eligible companies as defined by the bank between 24 and 65 and the loan amount is up to 16 times of monthly income and the maximum loan amount is 60 million Won.
