CKI grants 210,000 USD to sponsor KOSBI for women-owned SME competitiveness

서울--(뉴스와이어)--Citibank Korea (CEO Ha Yung-Ku, www.citibank.co.kr) signed an agreement for “The 3rd Citi-KOSBI women-owned enterprise competitiveness enhancement program” with Korea Small Business Institute (President Chang Ji-Jong) and delivered 240 million won (210,000 USD) in sponsorship funds. A total of 80 people attended the signing ceremony including CKI CEO Ha, KOSBI President Chang, Vice Chairperson Choi Sun-Hee of Korean Women Entrepreneurs Association, as well as program organizers and women-owned entrepreneur academy participants.

The program, financed by Citi Foundation and organized by KOBSI, has been provided since 2007 to build role models of women-owned SMEs and enhance their competitive edges. This year, its goal will focus on sharpening global competitiveness of women-led businesses. The fund will be funneled into programs like “Citi-KOSBI women-owned enterprise academy”, “Citi-KOSBI women entrepreneurs’ award”, and “Networking among women business owners at home and abroad”.

“The digital era will need more of feminine aspects like care and sensitivity down the road,” said CKI CEO Ha at the agreement ceremony. “How we utilize women workforce and women’s more honest and softer leadership will determine the future of our society. Women leadership will no doubt become our valuable asset and competitiveness.”

“I believe this program will be a chance for women business leaders rethink their competitive advantages,” mentioned KOSBI President Chang. “I hope this initiative will help them further develop business competences and network with other women leaders so that more women-owned enterprise will grow into global players.”

The signing ceremony was followed by the entrance ceremony of the “3rd Citi-KOSBI women-owned enterprise academy”. Following the successful 1st and 2nd rounds, the program customized to women SME owners will last during April 7- Jul 14 period at KOSBI office located in Yoido. The 14-week program will comprise 22 courses including basics (i.e. leadership, culture management, marketing, liberal arts) and in-depth ones (i.e. global competence, innovation, economic environmental change, human networking, strategic finance).
