Get a discount on your loan...Citibank Korea launches “Perfect UPL for discount”
“Perfect UPL for Discount” lowers your interest payment by calculating the loan interest amount after deducting 30% of deposit balance as designated by bank. You can link up to three demand deposit accounts to your unsecured personal loan account, including a third-party account if written consent is obtained from the third-party account holder.
Discounts on loan interest was largely confined to credit card spending and subscription to regular savings product in the past, but Perfect UPL for Discount is structured in the way that lowers interest payment as long as you put your money in your bank account. This is a ‘perfect’ solution for customers who have money but not sufficient enough to repay debt, as explained by a bank official.
In addition to rate discount, Perfect UPL for Discount offers various fee waivers. Customers with Citibank account as loan payment account will be offered waiver on 16 different types of banking transaction fees, including phone banking transfer fee, internet banking transfer fee, cashier’s issuance fee, and cash/debit card re-issuance fee.
