Citibank Korea offers “Citi Global Transfer” services for Real time online incoming remittance, without FX fee
Remittance is limited to non-trade account and the cap is USD20,000 for demand deposit foreign currency account of Citibank Korea. Remittance fee is waived 100%. Currently, 15 major countries including the US, UK, Singapore and the Philippines are participating in CGT program allowing remittance of money from accounts held in these countries to Korea, and the number of participating countries is expected to grow.
Outgoing remittance on real-time basis to an overseas Citi account has been in service since April 2008. Telegraphic fee, relay fee and accepting bank fee from making remittance transactions are all exempted which makes it possible for customers to save money on online overseas transfers.
Citi Global Transfer is the flagship product of Citibank Korea that leverages on Citi’s global network and a cheap and convenient product for two-way remittance between Citi accounts. This product is especially useful for students studying overseas, long-term dwellers, or Korean residing overseas who have the need for overseas remittance.
