Citi Unveils Korea’s Online Time Deposit & Foreign Currency Specified Money Trust Account

서울--(뉴스와이어)--Citi today announced that its Global Transaction Services business has launched Korean won Time Deposits and Specified Money Trusts (SMT) in both local and foreign currency in internet banking. These services will substantially increase efficiency and flexibility for Citi’s Korea-based corporate clients.

This unique offering makes it possible for corporate clients to open/close their time deposit accounts and make deposits or withdrawals on their SMT accounts in real-time, without having to visit a Citi branch. A new feature being offered as part of these services is time deposit exception rates. Citi understands that the needs of its clients come first, so if a client is not satisfied with Citi’s proposed time deposit rate, they can apply for an exception rate which will be offered according to the client and deposit amount.

Citi clients will benefit from enhanced transaction visibility enabling better decision making through real-time transaction inquiries. The new services also foster investment maximization by allowing clients to capitalize on the ability to work up to cut-off times. For prospective clients, the key benefit will be a marked reduction in the levels of document submission as a result of the elimination of Time deposit account opening applications and real name verification.
