July IT Panel Shipments Down 10%, TV Panel Shipments Maintain Growth

서울--(뉴스와이어)--Displaybank, a global authority in market research and consulting for the display industry, today announced that large-area TFT-LCD panel shipments for July 2010 dropped 8% M/M. Panel makers’ utilization adjust led the IT panel shipments to sharply decrease but TV panel shipments continue to maintain the increasing trend without single occasion of decline. July 2010 large-area TFT-LCD panel shipment recorded 52.61M units which decreased 8% M/M and shipment in revenue recorded $6.57B that decreased 5.7% M/M. These and other findings are disclosed in Displaybank’s newly updated Monthly Large-area TFT-LCD Panel Shipment Data Report, which covers Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) panel shipments on a monthly basis.

The adjust in utilization from some panel makers including Taiwan panel makers led Monitor and NotePC panel shipments to drop 11.2% and 15.2% to 15.95M units and 17.54M units respectively. But LCD TV panel shipments recoded 18.12M units to increase 3.2% M/M that renewed record-high.

Ricky Park, senior analyst in Display research group at Displaybank noted “the panel makers’ utilization adjust seen actively from July is expected to continue in August focused in Taiwan makers. Especially, utilization adjust for under 6G line are most evident that IT panel shipments focused in Monitor and Notebook will continue to be impacted in August.”
