Citibank Korea, to Celebrate 50% Citicard E-Statement Rate

SEOUL--(뉴스와이어)--Citibank Korea Inc.(CEO Ha Yung Ku, www.citibank.co.kr) announced it reached 50% in Citicard E-statement as of end of September 2010. Citicard e-statement rate as of end-September recorded 50.3%, indicating 1 in 2 Citicard customers is receiving the card statement via e-mail instead of post mail. This figure is the highest in Citibank Asia Region and also top level among local card companies.

Citibank Korea has been reducing its costs through its eco-friendly campaign called “Green Citi” which it has pursued since 2007 and has worked with Seoul Green Trust Foundation to channel the saved costs into its social contribution projects. The bank carried out “Building Our Community Forest‘’ campaign in 2008 in Gwangjang-dong and Myeongil-dong and the lender created green area in the rental apartments for the low-income people in Suseo-dong in 2009, which helped reform the image of rental apartments and provide residents a nice place for social get-togethers. Most recently, the bank made eco-friendly garden for students in Jamwon Elementary School in Banpo-dong where students living in urban area have a chance to enjoy watching various plants and learn more about nature and living life. Citibank Korea vowed to continue to play a leading role in making our environment greener and strengthen its relationship with local residents by pursuing “Building Our Community Forest‘’ campaigns.

Executive Vice President of Operation Division, Kim, Myung-ok said that achieving 50.3% of e-statement was possible thanks to the active participation of our customers. “Many of our card customers chose to receive their bills through email supporting our strong commitment to green environment and energy saving, helping us reduce postage and paper use and eventually pursue ‘Building Our Community Forest’ campaigns. Local residents’ response is also very positive. We are glad to contribute to low carbon green growth,” she added.
