Samsung SDS ranks 1st in IOU for Global MAKE awards
Global MAKE has been awarded since 1998 by Teleos, a UK company with world-renowned authority in knowledge management, to “most admired knowledge management enterprises,” selected out of conglomerates with global influence, revenue, and brand. This highly-recognized award is called a Nobel Prize in knowledge management.
The Global MAKE awards were originally awarded to mother companies that operate independent affiliates, but this year, Individual Operating Unit (IOU) was newly added to recognize the performance of individual companies. Out of 22 final candidates, 10 global companies including NASA (US) and Tata Consultancy Services (India) won the awards, and Samsung SDS was ranked first among them.
An official of Samsung SDS said, “We have promoted innovative knowledge management programs continuously by organizing a knowledge management taskforce, and settled knowledge management as an everyday corporate culture. Besides, through knowledge management activities, we have created synergy with Samsung Networks, which merged with SDS this year. These efforts have led SDS to win the award.” He added, “After the news was released, not only domestic companies but also companies in overseas countries including Indonesia, Hong Kong, and Australia are expressing their intention to visit SDS to learn about its advanced knowledge management.”
Samsung SDS has won Asian MAKE awards, which are given to Asia’s top enterprises, for 9 consecutive years. With the winning of Global MAKE, it will promote its excellent knowledge management capabilities not only in Asia but also throughout the world.
