YouTube Founders Acquire Tap11
- See Strong Synergy Between Tap11's Real-Time Business Intelligence Platform and Recent Acquisition of Delicious.com, the Leading Bookmarking Service
The acquisition closely follows their recent acquisition of Delicious.com, the leading social bookmarking service. Both companies will become part of AVOS, their new Internet company.
“Our vision is to create the world‘s best platform for users to save, share, and discover new content,” said Hurley. “With the acquisition of Tap11, we will be able to provide consumer and enterprise users with powerful tools to publish and analyze their links’ impact in real-time.”
Tap11 works with over 500 major brands, media companies, and agencies. Twitter selected Tap11 as a top 6 app at their Chirp conference, where the judging panel viewed Tap11 as the “Omniture of the real-time web.” Unlike listening only tools, Tap11's Webby-winning platform integrates social publishing and analytics into a single dashboard to allow marketers to monitor, engage, and measure the impact of their campaigns. The result is faster, more relevant data to maximize social marketing ROI.
“We're excited to join Chad and Steve to take Tap11 to the next level,” said Adam Zbar, CEO of Tap11. “With over 1 billion users on the social web and no good tools to systematically archive and analyze this data, there is a massive loss of marketing intelligence.”
“We plan to leverage our Volume™ algorithm to fully measure the impact of content consumed and shared across the social ecosystem,” said Braxton Woodham, Tap11's CTO. “In combination with Delicious.com, we will be able to provide consumers and publishers with deep, relevant insights and recommendations.”
Zbar will stay on as head of business operations & strategy and Woodham will become head of engineering at AVOS. The company is located in San Mateo, the small Northern California town where Hurley and Chen started YouTube. They're aggressively hiring to build a world-class team to build the best information discovery service on the web.
