Sigma Designs SMP 8653 Is the Processor of Choice for Intel Wireless Display
- D-Link Selects Award-Winning Platform as the Foundation for Its MainStage TV Adapter

The market for wireless PC to TV display devices is growing swiftly. More than 100 laptop models available today come with Intel Wireless Display technology, and the number of supported laptops is expected to continue its growth at a rapid pace. D-Link is the second announced company that has developed products with the ability to wirelessly stream PC content to the TV.
The solution requires two pieces -- a Sigma-powered TV adapter, such as the D-Link MainStage DHD131, and a notebook powered by the Intel Core™ Processor family with Intel Wireless Display. Intel Wireless Display captures fully rendered display frames and wirelessly sends the compressed video and audio to the Sigma-powered adapter that is connected to the TV.
Using Sigma‘s SMP8653 media decoder technology, D-Link’s MainStage DHD-131 wirelessly communicates with a laptop supporting Intel Wireless Display to extend the end user's PC browsing and 1080p viewing experience to the TV. Once the D-Link MainStage is connected to the TV, there is just a quick set-up process to create a wireless connection with the laptop. The adapter is designed to connect to a wide variety of TVs using either HDMI or A/V cables. Consumers benefit from this fully integrated PC-to-TV solution without having to plug any external components or dongles into their notebook computer or learn a new user interface.
