JCB & JCBI Launches Sales Promotion with Major Retailers in Japan and Korea
As a measure to promote JCB cardmembers in Japan to shop at merchants in Korea, JCB and The Shilla Duty Free have agreed to send a direct mail and advertise the tie-up campaign “Smart Shopping at the Shilla Duty Free Store!” targeting JCB Gold cardmembers in Japan who have traveled to Korea.
JCB customer channel J-Compass, originally launched as Japan domestic service, is a direct mail advertising which can be efficiently targeted to the specific market segment desired by the merchant, using filters including gender, geographical area, age and consumption patterns.
The sales promotion targeting JCB cardmembers living in Korea is in cooperation with a number of major retailers(1) in Kyushu. JCB cardmembers(2) in Korea presenting their JCB Card at participating merchant locations from 16 January to 15 May will receive a free travel pillow as well as 5% reward points on total purchases up to a maximum of 50,000 won. JCBI and Korean banks also agreed to run other tie-up campaigns with the retailers at the same time.
JCB and JCBI plan to continue integrated sales promotions and leverage JCB cardmember base and merchant networks in Japan and Korea with JCB's unique position as an issuer and acquirer in the Japanese market and as an international brand, not only to benefit JCB business partners, but also to contribute to active economic interaction between the two countries.
(1) Iwataya, Solaria Plaza, Daimaru Fukuoka Tenjin Store, Tenjin Chikagai, Hakata Hankyu, Vioro, Fukuoka Mitsukoshi, Hakata Port International Terminal Duty Free, Fukuoka Airport Duty Free.
(2) Cards issued by Shinhan Card, KB Kookmin Bank Card, Lotte Card and National Agricultural Cooperative Federation card are eligible.
