Citibank Korea celebrates the International Women’s Day

SEOUL--(Korea Newswire)--Citibank Korea (CEO Yung-Ku Ha, www.citibank.co.kr) holds a variety of events including leadership a lecture and a mentoring signing ceremony to celebrate the International Women’s Day.

Citi marks its 200th anniversary this year since it first started its financial services in New York in 1812. Citi has celebrated the International Women’s Day every year to demonstrate gratitude for the commitment and accomplishments of women that have contributed to Citi’s 200 year history and to enhance women leadership. In particular, women leaders from each country are invited to Citi local subsidiaries and offices across the world to hold an event at 8am local time of each country. It starts from Sydney and Seoul on March 8 to hold the events seamlessly from country to country like a relay and will finally end in Buenos Aires.

In Korea, executives and employees of Citigroup Korea subsidiaries will get together at the 20th fl., Press Center Bldg. to attend a lecture and a mentoring signing ceremony. Artistic Director Tae-Ji Choi of Korea National Ballet will lecture on the topic of “Diverse culture and women leadership of our times.” Women executives of Citi will sign up for a mentoring program to become mentors of new employees. Congratulatory messages from Minister Kum-Lae Kim of Gender Equality and Family, Executive Vice President Sang-Tae Baek of Volvo Korea, etc. will be followed. “61% of CKI women employees are married, making the bank a role model for utilizing women workforce. Its core values of nurturing differentiated global talent to grow both the bank and employees ultimately helps retain outstanding women workers,” said Minister Kim in her congratulatory remarks. She asked CKI to play a leading role in sustainable development of women talent.
