SEOUL--(Korea Newswire)--Citibank Korea (CEO Ha, Yung-Ku, www.citibank.co.kr) announced it has globalized all of its ATMs at all branches and waived fees for using ATM services so as to enable foreigners in Korea to easily use their cards issued outside of the country on Citibank ATMs

Cash withdrawal on overseas issued card was not available at ordinary ATMs other than Global ATMs, which many foreign visitors in Korea found inconvenient. A large number of customers are expected to benefit from the Bank’s latest move for globalization.

Also, additional fees for using global service from ATMs are now waived (other banks in Korea charge at least US $3 for ATM global service) hopefully contributing to satisfaction of visitors to Korea as the country is expecting to see a substantial number of visitors from the rest of the world with large scale occasions and functions scheduled this year, marked as “2012 Visit Korea Year”, such as Jeju Island being selected as one of the 7 most wonderous natural sites and YeoSoo World EXPO

As part of its efforts to provide better service to foreign customers in Korea, Citibank has designated branches which are fully prepared to serve them (Business Department / Oksudong / Seoul / Myoungdong / Gangnam / Dongbu Ichondong / Bangbaedong / Cheongdamdong / Trade Center / Yeouido Joongang / Teheranro / Seogyodong Branches), built Internet / Mobile banking platform in English and put in place Call Center exclusively serving aliens.

An official of Citibank Korea expressed hope that its ATM globalization will serve as an opportunity for the Bank to take one step closer to its present and potential customers around the world as a genuine global bank. He added that the Bank took the initiative in adding global service features to all of its ATMs while waiving global service fees in order to bring more convenient service to its global customers and strengthen its commitment to the local community as a bank with the largest global network across the globe and the most Korean bank in the local market.
