NEW YORK--(Korea Newswire)--The NASDAQ OMX Group, Inc. (Nasdaq:NDAQ) today announced that Questrade Inc., a leading online brokerage firm in Canada, has selected NASDAQ Basic to power its new online trading applications IQ Web and IQ Edge. Questrade is the largest Canadian brokerage to fully integrate NASDAQ Basic, delivering valuable real-time streaming U.S. market data to investors.

NASDAQ Basic provides users with essential real-time quote and trade data for all U.S.-listed securities. Additionally, NASDAQ Basic offers firms a lower-cost, faster, easier-to-administer alternative to Level 1 products.

“By selecting NASDAQ Basic as its source of U.S.-listed securities data, Questrade enjoys significant savings while simultaneously serving its clients with high quality data,” said Brian Hyndman, Senior Vice President, NASDAQ OMX Global Data Products. “The integration of NASDAQ Basic into Questrade‘s web and desktop trading software underscores Questrade’s commitment to giving its clients in Canada a competitive advantage.”

Edward Kholodenko, President and CEO of Questrade says, “We are coupling NASDAQ Basic with the latest technology to deliver an unparalleled personal trading environment. Our IQ platforms are extremely flexible, allowing any style of investor to adapt the platform to suit their needs. With IQ Web and IQ Edge, Questrade is redefining the online trading experience for Canadians.”

To date, more than 1000 firms have selected NASDAQ Basic to power their real-time data, including nine out of the top ten U.S. banks (based on AUM).

NASDAQ Basic data includes securities listed on NASDAQ, NYSE, and NYSE Amex based on liquidity from the NASDAQ Market Center and the FINRA/NASDAQ Trade Reporting Facility. Questrade‘s users of NASDAQ Basic also receive data from two other NASDAQ trading venues: NASDAQ OMX BX®(BX®) and NASDAQ OMX PSXSM(PSXSM), thanks to Questrade’s provision of NASDAQ Last Sale Plus. NASDAQ Basic can be deployed in a variety of investor tools, such as last sale displays, charts and portfolio trackers.
