Citibank Korea taking lead in saving earth during the Earth Week

SEOUL--(Korea Newswire)--Citibank Korea, Inc. (CEO Ha, Yung-ku) participates in numerous meaningful activities including “Let’s stop using paper cups,” Seoul City government’s “Adopt a Tree” Campaign, and environment cleanup in Seoul Dream Forest during the Earth Week from Apr. 21 to 25.

“Let’s stop using paper cups” is a campaign to take the first step in preserving the earth by reducing the number of trees cut down to make paper cups and decrease the carbon dioxide generated while the paper cups are naturally degraded. Those who decide not to use paper cups join the program voluntarily during the campaign period.

Meanwhile, branches of Citibank Korea located in Seoul downtown area that signed up for Seoul Citi government’s “Adopt a Tree” campaign will more actively engage in taking care of the trees during the Earth Week. On Apr. 26, employees will clean up the environment in Seoul Dream Forest also.

Earth Week, the week during which the Earth Day on Apr. 22 is included is aimed at paying particular attention to the preservation of the earth, and during this week, Citigroup employees across the globe join a variety of activities to save the earth. Earth week serves as a channel to heighten the general public’s awareness on environmental issues and help the bank’s staff regardless of level and position enthusiastically volunteer for what they can do to protect the earth both at work and community.
