CRAWLEY, ENGLAND--(Business Wire / Korea Newswire)--Edwards is highlighting the benefits that their dry vacuum pumps can bring to the chemical processing industry at Korea Chem, June 10 - 13, 2014. The key advantage of dry pumps is that they do not use water or oil for sealing or lubrication of the vacuum stages. They have a lower environmental impact with no contamination of either the process stream or cooling water, and little or no effluent generation.

Korea Chem is the only trade exhibition for the chemical processing industry in Korea, and visitors to the Edwards booth will have the opportunity to chat with application experts about the right vacuum solutions for their process needs; chemical dry vacuum pumps provide the optimum solution for many applications in the process industry.

Edwards EDP dry vacuum pumps offer a clean and robust pumping solution for the chemical and pharmaceutical industries. Using a unique, patented non contacting reverse claw mechanism, EDP pumps create an oil free vacuum, preventing contamination of the process stream. These pumps are highly tolerant to liquids and particles in the gas stream and are capable of operating from atmosphere to ultimate pressure. In addition, an indirect cooling system prevents chemical reactions within the pump.

The newest chemical dry vacuum pump from Edwards, the CXS, incorporates innovative screw design features designed with simplicity and reliability in mind. It is simple to install and use, with an integral controller and safety systems which allow for ‘plug and pump’ operation. It has excellent reliability, is environmentally friendly and gives improved liquid and solids handling. The CXS also requires minimal maintenance, which together with low energy usage and utility costs provides users with a low cost of ownership. The CXS is currently being certified for the Korean market, but has been successfully installed at sites across the world, and interest continues to grow as the benefits of the technology are realized.

“We are delighted to be showcasing our innovative vacuum solutions at Korea Chem. Our dry vacuum technology can provide real cost benefits and environmentally friendly solutions to the chemical and process industries.” commented Sunil Hong, Business Manager, Vacuum Business, Edwards Korea.

Edwards has been operating in Korea for 30 years, and in 2011 opened an advanced manufacturing site in Cheonan. This is not only a factory but also a technical centre, allowing more local technical applications support for customers in Korea, as well as new product development.
